Become a Leader
If you love hanging out with youth and sharing your faith, becoming a leader at El Shaddai is an excellent opportunity! The campers that attend always have fun and so will you!
Every school holiday period we run outreach camps for young people and we are always looking for new people to join us as volunteers. There are no financial costs to be a volunteer, we only ask you to give up your time to serve God. All training, accommodation, and food are covered by CYC.
We strongly believe that equipping young people with the tools, knowledge, and values needed to navigate life with Christ’s teachings is essential. Our vision is to make disciples of Jesus Christ and to create opportunities for all to personally encounter Christian life and values, through a unique camping experience. We aim to do this in a safe and nurturing environment where young people can learn about Christ and grow in their faith.

Volunteer OpportunitiesÂ
We have four different volunteer roles for the camps that we run. To look at the role descriptions, tasks, and deadlines of these roles click on the below links. To see the minimum requirements of being a volunteer check out the next section of this page ‘What you need to be confirmed as a volunteer’.
Standard Role
Our standard role and one that we need the most help filling is the cabin leader role, the minimum age to do this role is 16 or older however, to lead on teen camps cabin leaders need to be 19 or older.
You Co-lead with another Christian assigned to a dorm of 6-8 campers for the duration of the camp. Spend time getting to know the campers and participate in site activities.
Key Leading Roles
Ideally, we’d like someone to do cabin leading before they step up to a key leading role so that they know how one of our CYC Camps operates. There is no minimum age per se to be a key leader however it is best that they are older than their peers which they are in charge of e.g. the cabin leaders.
