Cabin Leader Role Description
What are we looking for in a Cabin Leader?
There are several passages in the bible that directly talk about being a worker of God, let’s consider two of these which are probably the most common referenced passages on the topic.
Matthew 9:35-38
The Harvest Is Plentiful, the Laborers Few
35 And Jesus went throughout all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every affliction. 36 When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. 37 Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; 38 therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.”
Matthew 28:18-20
18 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
As a Cabin Leader CYC is asking you to work with another volunteer to lead a dorm group on one of our camps and help enforce the policies and procedures of CYC. In the above passage, it is clear that we are to go out and share Christ with others. By coming to camp, you are committing to do this, by words and actions.
