CYCSA, Privacy and You
CYCSA believes that your privacy is an important right that you have as an individual and of high importance to you as one of our customers.
We are committed to ensuring your personal information provided to us is treated professionally and is protected from unauthorised access.
“Personal Information” means any information we hold about you from which we can determine your identity. For example, we collect your name and address details.
COLLECTION OF INFORMATION
We will only collect necessary personal information directly from you unless this it is impractical or unreasonable to do so. At or before collection we will take reasonable steps to ensure that you are aware of the reason and purpose for collecting your personal information and to the extent to which that information may be disclosed.
We need to collect personal information from you so that we can Set up and administer our customer database Determine your requirements on attendance at camps and conferences organised by CYCSA Provide you with information regarding our organisation.
Generally the information that we collect comprises of Name, Address, Age, Organisation, Gender, contact details ( incl. Phone, Fax, Email, Mobile) and any other information relevant to your camping application.
USE AND DISCLOSURE
Personal Information will only be used for the purpose it was given ( Primary Purpose) . It will only be used for other purposes ( Secondary Purpose) only if:
- Consent to the purpose is expressed or implied
- The use/disclosure is related to the main purpose of collection and you would reasonably expect it to be so used in such way; or
- It is required by Law or some other compulsion to disclose such information as is permitted in the National Privacy Principle 2.
QUALITY AND SECURITY
We will make every reasonable effort to ensure the security of your personal information held with us and that this information is complete and accurate and up-to date when ever we collect or use it. If you find that the personal information is inaccurate, incomplete or out of date, please contact us immediately. Your information if no longer needed will be destroyed or de-identified immediately it is no longer required.

- CYC can determine individual requirements on attendance at camps and conferences organized; and
- CYC can provide the individual with information regarding the organization.

Quality and Security
CYC will take such steps as are reasonable in the circumstances:
- to protect the information from misuse, interference and loss.
- to protect the information from unauthorized access, modification or disclosure; and
- to ensure that the personal information that CYC collects is accurate, up-to-date and complete.
Personal information, if no longer needed, will be destroyed or de-identified as soon as possible. Records will be kept for seven (7) years.
Access
CYC will upon the individual’s request, provide them with access to personal information which is held by CYC. CYC will deal with the request to provide access to personal information within a reasonable amount of time – usually within two (2) weeks of the request.
ACCESS
CYCSA will, upon your request, provide you with access to your personal information which is held by us. CYCSA will deal with your request to provide access to your personal information within a reasonable amount of time – usually within 3 days of your request. CYCSA will also aim to put in place systems which will allow you full uninterrupted access to your information at any time.
