Young Adults Camp Study Leader Information
Thank you so much for deciding to become the Study Leader for our upcoming CYC Young Adults Camp! It means so much to us that you would take the time to invest into the young adults of the global Church. As this camp approaches there are some things that you need to keep in mind, outlined below should be everything that we need you to be doing as a part of your role.
Your Responsibilities
As a study leader you are responsible for all the Christian content during our camps, usually in the form of connecting with campers over the weekend, and in the form of 3-4 study sessions, the exact way that these sessions will look is completely up to you and how you would like to deliver your content. Typically there is a session on the Friday night, one on Sunday morning, and 1-2 sessions on the Saturday, though these times can all change depending on how often you would like to speak, with room to add however many sessions you would like. These sessions can also be accompanied with worship music by coordinating with the more musically inclined attendees through the group chats the CYC Camps Coordinator will make.
Before Camp
- Pray
- 12 weeks before the camp we will need a descriptive paragraph about yourself/family/ministry to put in our advertising.
For example;
“Jordan has been involved in ministry and leadership for over 12 years, serving in youth and young adults programs across a range of churches and camps. He currently serves as the Young Adults Pastor at Riverstone Community Church, where he is passionate about helping young people grow in their faith, build authentic community, and engage deeply with God’s Word. Jordan is married to Emma and together they have two young children. In his spare time he enjoys good coffee, board games, and spending time outdoors. He is excited to spend the weekend on camp and looks forward to encouraging and challenging everyone in their walk with God.” - 6 weeks before the camp let us know the general theme/topics of your talks, how many you would like to have, and approximately how long you would be speaking for, where you would like worship music, if you would like any dedicated reflection/small group time, and if there is anything else you would need to make your study run effectively.
Other Before Camp times to keep in mind
- 10 weeks before the camp bookings will be open with advertising becoming available here for you to share if you like
- 5 weeks before the camp your study topics will be advertised on our socials
- 2 weeks before camp registrations close and our pre-camp information/packing list is sent out to our campers along with anything you would like us to let them know about beforehand
